Derby SNT Team

The Derby city centre team are responsible for the safety of the residents inside the inner ring road, which includes the Bus Station, Derbion centre, River Gardens, the Cathedral Quarter and several residential areas around the inner ring road.

Our priorities are: – tackling anti-social behaviour, begging, bicycle thefts and drugs misuse. Whilst still, maintaining the safety of the residents who live, work and visit Derby City Centre which, is our top priority. We aim to conduct foot patrols in the city centre, in order to be a visible presence for those that live and work within the city centre.

Our proposals for tackling these situations are: – Focused patrols inside the city centre, making sure the team are in places where they are needed, and can respond to any incidents quickly. Continuous communication between partner agencies, including the city council and the rangers who also patrol the city centre. We have a variety of tools available for us to use throughout the day, including the use of a dispersal notice where we can exclude individuals from the city centre for a period of 48 hours.

We have a good working relationship with the city council cameras, Derbion centre, the St Peter’s Quarters Rangers, Cathedral Quarter Rangers. Between us all we communicate any antisocial behaviour reported, we can then respond to and take any necessary action if needed.

We currently have an office in the city centre, which is in a prime location. We’re able to patrol from there from a day to day basis and ensure we can meet the needs of the community.

City Centre Team are proud and dedicated to serving the public in Derby and are here to listen to any suggestions you may have.
