Heage Neighbourhood Watch

Heage Neighbourhood Watch

The Heage Neighbourhood Watch (HNW) is a watch scheme registered with Derbyshire Neighbourhood Watch.

The objective of the Neighbourhood Watch organisation is to build a stronger more connected community, which in turn will help lead to a safer community where crime and anti-social behaviour are less likely to happen.

Whilst we aim to help to connect people, reduce isolation and help improve our community, crime prevention is at the core of what we do.

The ultimate aim of the Heage Neighbourhood Watch is to cover all streets within our village with a Neighbourhood Watch (NW) street co-ordinator while continuing to expand membership within the individual areas.

We can all help to achieving this and as a group we:

  • Organise & run events that help improve our village & bring people together … helping to trust each other
  • Work with our Safer Neighbourhood Team & sharing advice on home security, personal safety, dealing with bogus callers, cybercrime & scam alerts, fly tipping etc
  • Encourage people to be more vigilant, looking out for & helping each other and highlighting anything suspicious
  • Provide a ‘network’ that we can all ‘report & warn’ the issues we think people need to be made aware of– suspicious people wandering around the village etc
  • Issue warnings on social media if there’s any anti-social behaviour or letting the police know if there’s any suspect behaviour in the neighbourhood.
  • Provide a means for people to voice their view on things that can be improved in the village
  • Receive  & distribute police information on crime trends and other local issues
  • Expand what we do as a group to help make our village safer and the people in it feel more empowered to become involved in making a positive impact for everyone
