I am a healthcare professional and public servant with a strong commitment to improving community wellbeing and safety across Derbyshire.
As Chair of Derbyshire Neighbourhood Watch, I have the privilege of working alongside over 33,000 volunteers across 883 schemes. Together, we support and strengthen local communities through crime prevention, awareness-raising, and meaningful grassroots engagement.
My background is in anaesthetics, intensive care, and medical education, having worked across both the NHS and private sector. This clinical experience gives me a unique perspective when working with partners across Derbyshire, including my role of Deputy PCC for Derbyshire from the Office of the Deputy Police and Crime Commissioner, particularly in addressing the complex links between health, vulnerability, and crime.
I am especially passionate about education, women’s health, and social inclusion. With a strong understanding of mental health, trauma, and emotional well-being, I am committed to ensuring that victims of crime feel heard, supported, and able to access the help they need.
A key focus of my work is supporting the Police and Crime Commissioner’s priorities, including tackling drug dealing and substance misuse by understanding the underlying causes and drivers of crime. I also lead on initiatives to address Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG), working to build trust in policing, raise awareness, and improve access to support services and aftercare for victims.
Through all of my roles, my aim is simple — to create safer, more connected communities where people feel supported, informed, and empowered.
